St. Bernadette’s Youth Group is a Catholic youth group designed to bring together youth aged between 12- 15 years of the St. Bernadette's Parish and surrounding areas.
We meet on the 3rd Friday of each month, from 7:30pm – 9.30pm. Throughout the meeting we play games, play and dance along to music, and enjoy supper together. The group is made up of the Parent Leaders, Youth Leaders, and the members of the Youth Group. The Leaders, under the supervision of the Parent Leaders, facilitate the meetings, and activities. Through the activities at meetings, we allow the members to develop leadership skills, so when they reach the appropriate age they can be considered to become Leaders, and play a bigger part in the running of the Youth Group.
The group is designed to bring people together allowing each person the opportunity to develop their own individuality, make new friends, become closer with God and most of all to have fun. We endeavour to allow all to get involved within the running of the meeting as well as to develop leadership skills and roles within the group and the local community.
We encourage each person to bring along new friends to each and every meeting (the more the merrier) to allow people to get to know more people and make new friends. As well as making the experience filled with happy and joyful memories.
Throughout the year we aim to have many different events, such as theme nights, outings, an annual camp and Leader’s retreat, as well as participate in events in the local community.
