Our Craft Group does a lot more than the name suggests. Originally this group of dedicated volunteers, by making and selling craft items, raised sufficient funds to finance the building of the hall adjacent to our Church. Since then, the group has continued to raise funds through many creative activities e.g. travelling to Craft Groups around Perth to obtain ideas for their already extensive repertoire of craft products, makings items for sale at the Church and shopping centres in and around Rockingham.
One of the great achievements of our Craft Group has been their implementation of the use of discarded film canisters to encourage Parishioners and others to save their five cent pieces and bring them to the Church. This initiative was introduced in May 2006 and during the first three years, over $8,000 has been raised and put towards the debt on our church.
The group meets on the 1st Thursday of each month and if you would like to join or just have more information, please contact Mary Coton on 9593 1257.
